The Toddler Unit

The Toddler unit This unit caters for our 30 - 40 month old toddlers. This area is open plan and toddlers can move freely between rooms encouraging child initiated play.

All equipment is safely stored at a low level to enable the children to 'access and return' toys themselves.

Daily activities for these toddlers, which demand varying skills, include sand and water play, cooking, painting, construction and imaginative play, music and movement and a cosy book corner - to mention just a few!

This unit progresses on and not only focus's on the Prime areas of Learning (see baby unit) but also the extra four Specific Areas of Learning as set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage:

Literacy

Maths

Understanding of the World

Expressive Arts and Design

The older toddlers have a spacious outdoor play area which boasts different play surfaces and lots of challenging activities for the 2 - 5 age groups.

Our toddlers are staffed on a 1 - 4 ratio.
